Airport Pickup:  El Catey (Samana) International Airport (AZS) and Santiago International Airport (STI) are the closest airports to Samana.   For arrival and departure  through  Puerto Plata International Airport (POP) or Santo Domingo International Airport (SDQ), please kindly add $100 US to the total of your tour. There is no airport pick up for flights arriving after 6:30 p.m. However, our chauffeur will always wait for flights scheduled earlier, that are delayed   For airport return, departing flights must be scheduled no earlier than eleven o'clock a.m. due to the travelling distance between Samana' and the airport.

 

Accommodations:  Tropical Island Bed & Breakfast is a homey bed & breakfast hosted by Jehovah's witnesses, where brothers come from around the world on vacation!  Tropical Island Bed Breakfast is located two blocks from the sea and not far from nice restaurants and transportation to beautiful beaches.  Each room has two queen-sized beds, and is equipped with cable TV, VCR, and a large selection of movies. Computer/internet service.

 

Air-Conditioning:   There is an additional charge for rooms with air-conditioning. Kindly see below

Breakfast in buffet:  Each morning a buffet is served with an array of fresh tropical fruits in season along with homemade breads and pastries with eggs, ham, and Dominican "avena de chocolate." and fresh yogurt and granola

Stroll along the "Malecon" of the little town of Samana, situated by the sea, where there are comfortable benches and tiny gazebos where you can sit and relax.

Nice restaurants for dining are located along the "Malecon,"  Also, Italian pizza, French sidewalk cafe, Chinese restaurant and ice cream parlors are within walking distance. 

       
 

Visit  Samana's Tropical Flea Market in the park across from the dock and meet  the many brothers and sisters who have stalls there, selling paintings, jewelry, clothing and all kinds of  beautiful and unique island souvenirs!

Little covered wagons pulled by motorcycles called "conchos.".  Motorcycles available to rent; personal chauffeuring services offered by brothers at reasonable rates; Jeep rental available through Tropical Island Bed & Breakfast.  E-mail in advance for reservations..

AIR-CONDITIONING:

Rooms with air-conditioning are an additional $5.00 US per person per day.

 

Electrical cuts throughout the day are common in all  parts of the country. During these times there is no air-conditioning.TIBB, however, does have an inverter system that permits use of overhead fans, TV, lights, etc. during these times.

PRIVATE CHAUFFEURING:  Please add $650 U.S. to total.

Chauffeuring includes personal chauffeuring to all activities and places anywhere on the Peninsula of Samana for the first five full days of your visit.  Includes tours to other side of Peninsula over the mountains to Las Terrenas, trip to northeastern end of the Peninsula to beautiful Rincon Beach, trip to area of El Limon waterfall for horseback riding, transportation to and from resort (for day pass) and transportation to remote parts of the country for field service with the congretation.
